Reports from Sarasota this morning said that Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts left the field to undergo an X-Ray for a stiff neck. Many were concerned that Roberts stiffness may have been linked to his back injury that kept him out of over 100 games last season. Roberts downplayed those thoughts in quotes from MASN’s Roch Kubatko.

“Just a stiff neck,” he said, downplaying the situation when approached by reporters. “We’ve probably all had a stiff neck at some point in our life, right? I’m not overly concerned.”

Roberts said that he’s “pretty sure” the stiffness is not related to his hernaited disk from last season.
