Another injury plagues the Birds.  After giving up three solo homeruns last night to a powerful Texas offense, the team knew something was wrong.  Starter Alfredo Simon’s fastball normally tops out at 94 mph; on Tuesday it was reaching the high 80’s.  Manager Dave Trembley would remove him from the ballgame.  This may just be the final time we see Simon this season.

According to MASNsports.com, the O’s plan to place Simon on the DL and bring up Radhames Liz to replace him.  Liz, a recently converted reliever, may find himself as a starter once again.  It is currently unknown whether or not Liz will be in the rotation.

In other recent news, people are also speculating that youngster Brad Bergesen may get the call-up soon enough in order to fill in the number five spot in the rotation (Barring that Liz does not assume this role.)  If Beregesen were to come to the big league club, then reliever Brian Bass would most likely be the one to suffer.
