If Orioles fans didn’t hate Mark Teixeira already, he’s really making it easier for them now. New York’s first baseman told ESPNNewYork.com that the Yankees are the “underdogs this year.”
“We’re the underdogs this year,” Teixeira said. “I love it. No one is picking us right now. Everyone in here should be looking forward to winning a championship. When you put on the pinstripes that is exactly what your goal should be every year. I think everyone understands that just because the public may not be picking us it doesn’t mean we don’t believe it in here.”
With a $200 million payroll you aren’t allowed to call yourselves underdogs. Sorry Tex. If the Yankees don’t win the pennant every year with that payroll they are failures, you don’t get the play the “everyone is writing us off” role.
The Severna Park native also went on to say that he wants to be “buried in pinstripes.” I guess that means he will be hated in his hometown forever.
If you smelllllllllllll what "The Tex" is cooking! And it ain't good… This guy has proven himself to be a jerk everytime he opens his mouth. Which to be honest is hard for me to imagine… Tex is a Mt. St. Joe Grad and most St. Joe guys are reserved… Take Gavin Floyd who was also there and whom my son pitched against in practice one day (My son was there Floyds Senior year and with Ray Lewis' brother Keon Lattimore). You hear nothing from him. It could be that he's not living up to be a #1 pick so he has nothing to run his mouth about as I think about it…
Tex is the guy that when its over won't accept the fact that the glory days of his life are over. Just like Neil "Freaking" Armstrong… Tex went to space and now he's back, and nobody gives a shit. So he needs to keep the spotlight on him now…
Every time "Tex the Clown" opens his mouth he removes any doubt as to whether or not he is an idiot. Back when he signed with the Yankees he professed that the reason he went to the Yankees was because of his admiration for Mattingly. A year later, he's in Baltimore at an even in honor of Eddie Murray and he gushed about how he was his favorite player growing up. Just keep your mouth shut Tex, there's still a few people who don't know you're a moron.
I'm sure this sounds a bit juvenile but it's the truth.
He is a dork.
He wants everyone to like him and yet manages to do the opposite.
There's a reason that a good ballplayer like Tex has been on 4 teams before age 33… Personality…
Were the underdogs. he he he he and I love it he he he. He sounds like a snobby 15rd old cheerleading b!tch. Whats next Tex are you going to "Bring It"
Matty, you didn't, tell me you didn't… Come on… You did! You used "Bring It" in a comment about Tex! Classic use of the "Bring It"! You get a bonus for using "Bring It"….
Now folks, I want to hear….
"Snap"
"Its On"
"Dice Shooter"
"Bweeeeeee"
"Gag me"
in some of the next comments… Matty opened the door with a home run, lets see who can join him…
