Breaking news. And breaking fantasy news. Jorge Posada has just removed himself from the Yankees lineup a few minutes ago. He is throwing a press conference immediately after the game. Rumor is that he has retired. This comes after being dropped to 9th in the order after only hitting .165 on the year. Russell Martin is only hitting .255 (which won’t cut it) which means Jesus Montero is expected to be called up. Montero the #3 Baseball America prospect behind Bryce Harper, and Mike Trout. This means that Montero is the #1 ranked prospect of anyone who is expected to make their major league debut this year. Montero is currently hitting .322 with 2 HR and 11 RBI at AAA for the Yankees. Because of the position scarcity at Catcher he is a must add for anyone who needs a catcher. Even if he struggles out of the box the potential he brings to your team is too big to pass up. Anyone struggling at catcher should add him now. If you have unlimited moves and they are free do this now. If you want to wait and make sure that he is definitely called up then that is a risk you have to be willing to take. I would jump now. Low risk very high reward. You’re looking at this year’s Buster Posey.

Looks like it may take a few days for this thing to progress, but Montero is definitely closer to coming up now than ever before. See how this whole thing turns out and if Posada goes he’s coming.

The way the Posada thing cam down is kind of a shock. He’s another player trying to deal with the ravages of age.
