21 runs. That’s like a football score. It’s almost like the Charlotte Knights scored three touchdowns and the Norfolk Tides scored… two safeties — or a field goal and an extra point. Or something.
I hate when people make the football score joke about a baseball game.
Charlotte put up a seven spot in the third inning and tacked on eight in the top of the ninth. The Tides surrendered 20 hits. Starting pitcher Zach Petersime got the loss, he allowed 10 earned runs on 11 hits over 4 innings pitched.
Here’s the good new thought, Norfolk got another multi-hit night out of left fielder Trayvon Robinson. He’s now 6-for-12 on the season and began the year with a leadoff solo home run. With numbers like that, he’ll be DH’ing in Baltimore in no time.
