After a 42 minute rain delay, the long awaited debut of Chris Tillman was last night at Baltimore’s Camden Yards. While it was in no way a quality start, Tillman did keep the team in line for just their third win since the All Star break.

Tillman went 4.2 innings surrendering three runs on seven hits, all three runs scored from solo homeruns. He had his work cut out for him against Zach Greinke.

Baltimore took an early 2-0 lead off Greinke when Adam Jones hit his third straight lead off homerun. Jones had a 2 for 5 day with a double and three RBI. That’s good news because Jones was just 2 for his last 18 entering the game.

Nolam Reimold‘s five game hit streak was snapped last night. He did have two walks and he’s reached base 25 of his last 48 plate appearances.

Down 3-2 in the fourth innings, the O’s rallied for three in the seventh.

Nick Markakis went 3 for 5 with 3 RBI.

Baltimore has a chance to split the series today in the finale of the four game series.
