The Ravens depth chart against the Steelers on Sunday has begun to filter out. To the surprise of some, Tom Zbikowski is listed as the the Ravens starter at strong safety over newcomer Bernard Pollard.
“‘It feels great. I’ve been looking forward to playing alongside Ed [Reed],” Zbi told Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times.
Though Pollard impressed many in the Ravens organization, Edward Lee of The Sun thinks that Zbikowski’s “familiarity with the defense’s schemes” gave him the edge.
I’m surprised by the move because I was more impressed by Pollard in preseason play as he recorded a sack and an interception in two games, but then again I don’t see practices. I guess that offseason boxing propelled Zbi into the starting role.
