After not only a great response from our loyal readers, but those North Dakota State Bison lovers on our FCS Championship preview, I thought an update was necessary.

According to my boy and fellow Towson grad, John Sears (@RealJohnSears) seven buses departed the Harvard of the Mid-Atlantic in the wee hours of Friday morning en route for Frisco, TX. And at post time, they are still about seven hours out but the the roar’s on the buses tell all the story.

Conversing with Sears a bit today, one of his messages stood out to me.

“We got some loyal students on this trip.”

I’ll say.

Based on Google maps’ projections, it would take a normal car 20 hours, 10 minutes going 1,365 miles to complete the journey. The trip will cover six states and one District en route to that bustling, sports-mecca known as Frisco. TX.

And you know what? I’m actually jealous I’m writing this instead of singing “Hail Towson” at a local Tennessee Wendy’s like these diehards did during a dinner stop along the way.

I get this gritty squad’s journey might not get the run on stations like WNST or other local sports media outlets (though 105.7 The Fan has been all over it). I fully aware it’s not Auburn vs. Florida St.

But you know what?

That’s  actually going to make it that much sweeter when Coach Ambrose and the Tigers pull the upset and bring that FCS Trophy back to Johnny U Stadium. #LeaveNoDoubt
