Rafriel Guthrie - Towson Tigers

All aboard the Towson Tigers bandwagon.

My Alma mater is 3-0 for the first time since 1972. On Thursday night, Towson rallied back from eight points down with 11 minutes remaining to edge the Temple Owls 75-69 at the SECU Arena.

Senior Jarrelle Benimon led the way with a career-high 32 points and 10 boards.

Benimon posted the third 30-plus point scoring game of his career, with two of the three coming against Temple. Senior Marcus Damas joined him in double figures with 16 points and 10 rebounds for his first double-double since Nov. 26, 2011.

Beating Temple, the sixth winningest mens basketball program in college hoops history, the Tigers continue to make a statement for themselves. It’s early, but my guy Jabby Burns thinks Towson dances this season.

Call him crazy if you want, but remember he’s on the same show that predicted Chris Davis would hit over 40 bombs this season.

How good is Towson? We’ll find out soon enough. They play at Villanova on Sunday and then at Kansas on Friday November 22.
