“Obviously, all the baby fat is gone and it looks like all the growth platelets have closed,” [Buck] Showalter said. “Jon’s in a good place. I think he’s had some very good role models. And as I’ve said before with Jonathan, it’s a matter of when, not if. That’s what we’ll try to judge here. He’s off to a pretty good start here. That’s for sure.”
The 22-year-old went 4-for-14 with a homer in five games with the O’s last season. He hit .256/.301/.396 with Triple-A Norfolk in the International League in 70 games in 2013.
