Josh Freeman (TB QB)- He was cut in a lot of leagues this year, and rightfully so. But after a 342 yd 2 TD day against a tough GB defense, maybe something finally clicked. Tampa’s offense finally looked pretty good and could finally stay consistent and strong to finish out the year. He plays TEN, CAR, and JAC the next 3 weeks. All 3 of them are games that TB should win.

Matt Leinart (HOU QB)- What if after years of all that frustration from never reaching potential, Leinart explodes with his first chance to start? We know how high his upside used to be. Kurt Warner was once the backup to this guy. And he is facing JAC. So it’s not like he’s facing a top tier defense. I’m not saying it’s going to happen, I’m saying it sounds like a typical news headline to me. Did I mention Andre Johnson is back with a vengeance this week?

Jake Locker (TEN QB)- Hasselbeck left injured giving Locker the chance to put up 140 yds with 2 TD’s. If Hasselbeck misses more games then Locker is a high upside guy. Rookies are very risky and inconsistent but the superstars seem to perform right away. And this guy performed right away this week. It will probably be a different story when a team has an entire week to prepare for him, but you never know. Stashing him on your bench is no risk at all.

Nate Burleson (DET WR)- He disappeared for awhile after a hot start to the season. Well to be honest the entire Detroit offense also disappeared. Now Matt Stafford is back on track and Detroit is an elite offense again. This last two games Burleson has put up impressive numbers and he’s worthy of owning again. Next week he faces GB, which worries me, but after that he gets NO, MIN, OAK, and SD. All pretty good matchups.

Jerome Simpson (CIN WR)- He showed exactly what he is capable of with a 152 yd game this week. He only put those numbers up because AJ Green was out. With that being said, there is a chance AJ Green will miss the next game as well. That could give him the chance to be the #1 guy yet again. Plus they face CLE next.

Darrius Heyward-Bey (OAK WR)- All I needed to see was some sort of light with Carson Palmer as his QB. Now that he led the team in receiving yds this week he’s an add. He’s low risk high reward. High as in he can put up #1 WR numbers.

Joshua Cribbs (CLE WR)- He’s the only guy I trust in Cleveland’s WR corp. Greg Little has not touched multiple points one time this season. I give up on him. Cribbs has scored 3 of the last 4 games. He’s still only a very deep option though.

Riley Cooper (PHI WR)- Sometimes all guys need is a chance. With every PHI WR out, Cooper got his first chance and came up with 75 yds and a TD. It’s unknown whether or not Maclin will return next week so Cooper could get another shot. If Vick plays there is less of a chance of him going to the same guy that Young favored though.

Andre Caldwell (CIN WR)- Same as Simpson except Caldwell is the #2 guy when Green is out. With Green in he’s a non factor.

Roy Helu (WAS RB)- It’s kinda sad that were back to this again. I’ve been saying all “wait until Helu starts.” Then he actually started and broke the Redskins’ receptions record. And then he hasn’t started since. But every single week since then he’s led the team in rushing on very limited carries. His yards per carry are high and he is a good receiver. We’re looking at a true fantasy #2 RB that would be a good starter every single week once he is the starter. But who knows with Shanahan. There are no reasons left why Helu shouldn’t be starting.

Kevin Smith (DET RB)- What? Where did this guy come back from? 200 combined yds and 3 TD’s this week. Are you serious? With those kind of numbers you have to pick him up and at least see what he does another week. I would even take the chance and start him if he is the starter next week and if your struggling at RB #2 or flex.

Chris Ogbonnaya (CLE RB)- 134 combined yds and a TD this week. Hillis is probably still a few games away from returning. And even if Hardesty returns he probably won’t take back over right away. Ogbonnaya has earned himself another start with the way he played this week.

Toby Gerhart (MIN RB)- We all know that Adrian Peterson was carted off the field this past week. The good news is that nothing is broken. So Peterson is immediately thinking about playing next week. Can he though? I sure hope so. If he can’t then it’s good to have Gerhart. He has upside and could actually start.

LaDainian Tomlinson (NYJ RB)- There is a chance Shonn Greene won’t play next week. In that case Tomlinson becomes a Brandon Jacobs like starter. Tomlinson missed the last game so there is also a chance he will still be banged up. More than likely he will play.

Joe McKnight (NYJ RB)- He’s a guy that only has the chance to have value. Shonn Greene left the last game injured and Tomlinson also didn’t play. Greene only has bruised ribs so there is a chance he will return next game. The only way McKnight will have any real value is if both Greene and Tomlinson miss another game. In that case he still isn’t very trustworthy. He had good numbers this week but he did face Denver. If you are desperate for RB’s and must add a guy who has the chance to start then he’s a guy you can take a chance on. He did have 121 combined yards.

Kellen Winslow (TB TE)- With TB’s offense finally clicking Winslow seems to be a go to guy one again. 3 out of the last 4 games he has either scored a TD or went over 100 yds. With 3 easy matchups coming up against TEN, CAR, and JAC, he could continue his hot streak awhile longer.

Seattle Defense- They gave up 7 points this week against STL. Next week they get WAS at home, who leads the league in turnovers. Then you can bench them against PHI and start them against STL again.

Washington Defense- They play Seattle next week. Tarvaris Jackson is no good. I can definitely see a defensive touchdown in this one. Plus if your league includes special teams I can see Brandon Banks returning a kick for a TD. He’s getting very close and he’s explosive.

Tampa Bay Defense- Next week they play Tennessee. That could possibly be a matchup against a rookie QB. After that it’s CAR and JAC. The Panthers can put up points, but the Jaguars can’t. That means at least 2 good matchups in the next 3 weeks.
