Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors believes that the Birds may extend a qualifying offer Markakis’s way and projects that he’ll sign a three-year, $39 million deal. Without that QO, Adams thinks that Markakis could mark $48 million over four-years in “a weak market for hitters.”
MASNSports.com’s Roch Kubatko reports that the two sides are working on a new deal for the 31 year old and that “Both sides want to get a deal done.”
