During the Orioles slow offseason last winter, they sent minor league righty Devin Jones to San Diego in exchange for reliever Brad Brach. In 46 games with the Birds in 2014, Brach pitched to a 3.18 ERA, 1.171 WHIP and 2.16 K/BB over 62.1 innings.

He also pitched 2.1 shutout innings in the postseason, appearing in game two of the ALDS against the Tigers and game two of the ALCS against the Royals.

Closer Zach Britton was a guest on 105.7 The Fan and told Roch Kubatko why he’s expecting a big year for Brach in 2015:

Darren O’Day also had some nice things to say about Brach:

[quote_box_center]”You look at a guy like Brad Brach last year who came out of nowhere. Really wasn’t on the radar at the beginning of the year and Brad can be a setup guy for any team. He’s going to be really good.”[/quote_box_center]
