Koji Uehara just can’t catch a break can he? The Bird‘s second starter pitched a solid 6 2/3 innings surrendering 3 earned runs, though 3 were unearned.
The first run of the game came when Carl Crawford scored on 2 straight errors, one on a Gregg Zaun throwing error during a stolen base and the other from an Adam Jones throwing error. Two errors. 1-0 Rays.
Baltimore took the lead when Brian Roberts hit his second homerun in two nights, a 2 run shot to right that scored Robert Andino. 2-1 O’s.
Then in the 5th, Gregg Zaun got his bat going with a solo homer to right. It was a long shot that nearly rapped around the foul pole. 3-1 O’s.
That’s when things went down hill. After striking out 8, Uehara picked off Jason Bartlett at second base. But, then he a single and an RBI double to Navarro. 4-3 Ray’s.
Jamie Walker came in and hit Carl Crawford. Was it intentional? I’m not touching that one. Then Bob McCrory made his 2009 debut and gave up a two run single to Evan Longoria.

Let’s help speedy Crawford to the plate…oy, vay!
its already bad enough he’s going to get over fifty steals but helping him bump up his run total as well shouldn’t be our job. the o’s defense has been disappointing so far when it was advertised as better than last year.
Tell me about it. Anything we can do to keep him off bases would be just GREAT!
