Adam Jones - Baltimore Orioles centerfielder

Adam Jones has been out of the Baltimore Orioles lineup the past two days, resting an ankle injury that he suffered while sliding into home plate on Thursday against the White Sox. The O’s are hoping to avoid putting Jones on the DL and are listing him as day-to-day. This is the first time that Jones has missed back-to-back games since 2011.

The Orioles centerfielder played in 159 games last season, 160 in 2013 and 162 in 2012.

Since hitting .400 in April with five home runs and 19 RBI, Jones has cooled off a bit in May and brought his average down to just a mere All-Star level .304.

In my non-medical expert opinion, I have to wonder if Jones has been the same since May 8 against the Yankees.

Remember his collision into the centerfield wall on this Alex Rodriguez fly ball?

Jones has slashed just .235/.271/.296 with one homer and five RBI since that collision.
