Jason Berken was on the hill in the finale of the the three game series against the Oakland Athletics. He gave up three runs in just five innings of work and was credited with the loss. Berken is now 2-10.

Baltimore‘s offense has really struggled as of late. The O’s scored just seven total runs in the series against Oakland. They put together nine hits today and have just one game of ten or more hits in their past eight games.

Don’t get me started about hitting with runners in scoring position either. The birds went 1 for 7 today with RISP and are hitting just .163 over their last five games while men are in scoring position.

Brian Roberts seems to be one of the few Orioles that is hitting. He connected with his AL leading 40th double of the season. B-Rob has 12 doubles in his past 25 games.

Aubrey Huff put the O’s on the board in the sixth with his 13th homerun, it was a two run shot. Matt Wieters also drove in one with a single. Wieters went 2 for 3 with a walk and is hitting .323 over his last 18 games.

The Orioles are now 1-5 against the A’s and haven’t won a series since the All Star break.
