Introducing BSR’s Baltimore Sports Moment of the Year Tournament

Over the past year, our sports teams have been a part of numerous incredibly moments. The Orioles finally made it to the postseason and the Ravens hoisted the Lombardi Trophy in New Orleans. To accomplish these feats, both teams faced adversity and were a part of some amazing games and, more specifically, individual moments within those games.

After careful research, myself and the team at BSR have selected 64 of the best moments over the past year, seeded them, split them up into four different brackets and are letting the Baltimore fans select the best one in our BSMY Tournament.

Baltimore Sports Moment of the Year LogoToday I’m thrilled to announce an awesome new project that we’ve been working on for weeks behind the scenes at BSR. We call it the Baltimore Sports Moment of the Year Tournament — but from now on it’s simply the BSMY Tournament.

Friday, you’ll be able to hear our “Selection Sunday” version of the BSR Podcast in which we share the bracket the world and give our predictions for the tournament. The first round of the BSMY Tournament begins Friday February 22 and lasts until Sunday February 24 at midnight.

Each matchup will be given it’s on blog post on BSR with a poll that will be open for 24 hours. The moment with the most votes moves on to the next round.

I’ve embedded our BSMY Tournament bracket below, so you can take a look at the matchups before they begin on Friday. Which moment will be crowned the Baltimore Sports Moment of the Year? Well, that’s up to you.

The fact that there were enough moments to make a 64 team bracket in a city with 2 professional sports teams tells you everything you need to know about 2012. What a year!
