Brian Matusz will have to serve all eight games of his suspension for using for foreign substance in the Orioles May 23 game in Miami against the Marlins. MASNSports.com’s Roch Kubatko broke the news via Twitter.
So MLB reduces Will Smith's suspension from 8 games to 6. But I'm hearing Brian Matusz will still have to serve 8 games, per source. Hmmmm

Matusz’s appeal was heard during a conference call on June 3 in Houston.
Two days prior to Matusz’s ejection, Brewers relief pitcher Will Smith was tossed after Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez notified umpires of pine tar on his right arm. Major League Baseball handed Smith an eight-game suspension, but reduced it to six games after his appeal.
So, what’s the difference exactly?
Let the conspiracy theories begin.
Boomstick9 says, If a suntan lotion and rosin concoction help pitchers grip a baseball better and hitters are okay with it, it should be legal. Hitters have pine tar to help them grip the bat…. MLB uses Mississippi to take the shine off the ball and offer a better grip so what difference does it make to these other concoctions?
