“Knock, knock”.

“Who’s there”?

It’s the Orioles magic number of 29, that’s who.

That’s because the team that resides in the 410 just finished a clean sweep of the Southsiders known as the Chicago White Sox. Last night, it was our CEO and founder’s guy Wei-Yin Chen’s turn to play hero as he went an impressive 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs on six hits for his career-high 13th win.

The victory marked the O’s first sweep in Chicago since taking a four-game set over the WSox in 1995.

And as a result, the Black and Orange, who have a league-leading 39 road wins, are a season high 21 games over .500 and playing their best baseball of the season. They also have won nine out of their last ten series and have gone an MLB best 31-13 since June 30 and extended their commanding AL East lead to 9.5 games over the now secnd place Jays.

After a well deserved off-day (without travel) today, they will open a 3-game set at the historic Wrigley Field starting Friday. “My boy” Jake Arrieta will oppose Kevin Gausman.
