Am I allowed to get excited about Dylan Bundy yet?
Against the Colorado Rockies, Bundy was perfect through 5.1 innings pitched. Last night, he kept a no hitter going a third of an inning more before Elvis Andrus ruined the fun with a single to center field.
The 23 year old continues to improve and in his postgame comments, transcribed by MASNSports.com’s Roch Kubatko, skipper Buck Showalter complimented Bundy’s preparation:
“It’s very hard to do what he’s done these last few outings. But he’s had great preparation for it. Not just from this spring and everything but … This guy basically pitched in Double-A, so he brings a lot of experience his second time in the big leagues. He takes in everything. He’s a watcher. Watch him sometime during a game. He’s watching. He asks good questions.”
I’m starting to get that confident feeling every time Bundy takes the mound.
Dylan Bundy's last 10 outings: 35.1 IP, 24 H, 9 BB, 43 K, 1.78 ERA, 0.93 WHIP. Is that good? #Orioles
