Say what you will about interleague play and the rivalry between the Nationals and Orioles, but the numbers don’t lie.  Attendance was up at Camden Yards when Washington came to town in May and last night Nationals Park was 85 percent full as 35,562 fans attended this three hour twenty minute slugfest that was delayed an hour by rain.

Fans are proving to have interest in the local interleague matchup and the hype between the up and coming Orioles and Nationals teams seems to be bringing fans to the stadium.

Last night, O’s fans saw an 8-4 loss, but got to see rookie Zach Britton deliver an RBI double for his first career hit.

It’ll be interesting to see the attendance numbers on Saturday and Sunday’s matchups, I suspect they’ll be similar to Friday’s.
