Even though Steve Melewski is calling it just “a mild elbow issue,” I can’t help but be worried about Orioles top prospect Dylan Bundy. Elbow injuries are far too common for flame throwing pitchers and after seeing Bundy’s velocity dip just a bit in spring training, I have to wonder how much he’s been bothered by an injury.
Still, Dan Duquette remains optimistic.
“Dylan has some mild tightness in his right elbow which he is resting until it’s resolved, which we expect will be in a couple of days,” Duquette wrote via text.
Bundy is expected to pitch the Baysox home opener on Thursday. With their six man rotation, he could skip his start and rest until next week.
The Orioles took away Bundy’s cutter in an effort to avoid a dip in velocity and the injuries they believe to be associated with the pitch. Hopefully this “tightness” is nothing more than just that.
Only one in ten pitching prospects make it in the pros,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,only one in fifty prove to be a number one…………………….
You should change your name to Nancy since you’re so negative all the time.
look you don’t go from throwing in the high 90’s to barely reaching 90 without something wrong. I knew all spring there was something going on with him.
played against bundy in high school. saw him throw a CG shutout and hit a bomb from both sides of the plate. would truly be a shame to see him hurt.
