Years Later, Eddie George Respects Ray Lewis And The Ravens

Eddie George against the RavensEddie George’s football career is over, but he’s still actively involved in the game through his work as a broadcaster. George has talked repeatedly this week about his battles with the Ravens and Ray Lewis during his playing days with the Titans.

Despite rushing for an average of just 56.7 yards per game in 14 matchups against the Ravens, George has the utmost respect for his former rivals.

“Memories? I call them nightmares,” George told reporters when asked about matching up against Lewis.

Former cornerback Chris McAlister famously said that George “folded up like a baby” during a Ravens win in November of 2001 against Tennessee.

When asked about Lewis’ recent PED scandal, George sided with the future Hall of Famer. “The timing is questionable,” he told the Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson. “Why bring this up at this time of year? Ray will use it as fuel for his fire”
