Dan Duquette answered one of the burning questions that Orioles fans have had about the roster by designating Delmon Young for assignment on Wednesday night. In his place, reliever Tyler Wilson was added to the 25-man roster.
The O’s GM told MASNSports.com’s Roch Kubatko that he’s confident that he’ll find a trade partner for Young in the next ten days.
“Delmon is a qualified major league hitter,” Duquette said, “and hopefully we will be able to find a spot for him in a few days.”
And so that Delmon Young era in Baltimore is over. Is it weird that I’m a little bummed? This guy will forever be etched in my brain as an October hero for what he did in game two of the ALDS. I’ve never heard a stadium so loud.
I’ve never screamed so loud at a baseball stadium.
BULLSHIT
No one can tell me that Reimold is more valuable to this team than Young. No F’ing way! We are going to regret this move in another 3 days when Reimold tweaks his back while taking a No. 2…. Those pinch hits are going to be missed.
