I spoke with Jeff of RightOffRussell.com immediately after the Ravens 31-26 victory over the San Diego Chargers. We both discussed that we were undoubtedly happy with Baltimore’s effort this week, but we had our concerns.

Here’s how I see it.

Good News: The Ravens are 2-0
They walked into 100 degree weather, dealt with a three hour time change, and 66 thousand screaming fans and left with a “W.”

Bad News: They skated by another opponent
The Ravens had chances to put this game away, just like they did when they played the Chiefs. But, they kept it close and kept me on the edge of my seat for a little too long.

Good News: The Offense put up the points
Everyone is calling them the “new look” Ravens, these guys put up 31 points against the quality defense. Our quarterback didn’t throw for 300 yards like he did last week, but he had two TDs.

Bad News: The Offense didn’t shut the door
Mark Clayton dropped a crucial pass, Ray Rice has been awful quiet (8 carries, 36 yards), and Demetrius Williams is non-existent.

Good News: The Defense played when it counted
San Diego was 0 for 5 in the red zone against Baltimore’s defense. Ray Lewis had a game saving tackle on 4th and 2, and ultimately the defense did their job.

Bad News: The Defense looks shaky
The secondary is small and Philip Rivers picked on them all day. He had 436 yards and 2 TDs, when things got bad he found who Fabian Washington was covering and threw to him. Baltimore’s defense was suspect to the big play. Sproles started things off with an 81 yard touchdown pass and we couldn’t stop him the whole day.

But hey, a win is a win.
