Baltimore fans have had a nickname for Orioles closer Jim Johnson for most of the season. He’s known as “Dirty Jim” throughout the O’s Twitterverse because of how filthy and disgusting his stuff is when he comes in to record the final three outs.

Johnson received a new nickname after earning his first postseason save on Monday night. Teammate and fellow bullpen arm Tommy Hunter nicknamed him “The Janitor.” In Tommy’s words, “They’re never very happy and they always clean up everybody else’s shit.”

Hey, it’s true.

I’m cool with calling JJ “The Janitor”.

And boy was it good to see him rebound after Sunday night’s loss. I sure hope you weren’t worried about the best closer in baseball having an off night.
