According to a report by Ken Rosenthal and John Paul Morosi, Melvin Mora wants to play in 2012. It was reported a few weeks ago, and seen here on BSR that Melvin Mora had officially announced his retirement. Mora is seeking a contract that would give him a spring training invite.
Reports earlier this off season seen here indicated that Mora wanted to return to Baltimore and finish his career here. The Orioles current third base depth features Chris Davis, Josh Bell, and Matt Antonelli. Davis has never played more than 32 games in one season at 3B, and Antonelli has never played an MLB game at 3B. With this being the situation it is possible that the Orioles look into inviting Mora to spring training this season. Since being away from the Orioles Mora has seen time at 1B, 2B, 3B, and LF, and could add some needed depth to the Baltimore bench.
