The trade winds are blowing as the deadline continues to approach. Two Orioles that have been mentioned in rumors may have dropped their stocks a little due to cold Junes.
Despite starting in an impressive 9-6 Orioles win, Kevin Millwood had a lackluster start on Wednesday to cap off a below average month of June. Though Millwood got his only two wins in June, his ERA is over 8 for the month. MLBTradeRumors.com reported that the Mets have lost interest in the Oriole ace due to his declining numbers on the rubber.
Ty Wigginton had an impressive April and May with 13 home runs and 32 RBI, but has dipped off since then. Wiggy had his first homer of June on Wednesday night, but has only batted just over .200 for the month.
We posted a story earlier in the week about Texas’ interest in Jeremy Guthrie. He’s one guy who’s stock is on the rise, averaging just one home run per game (an area that plagued him last season) and pitching to a 4.30 ERA.
