Every Monday I will be posting random news and notes I can find about the Orioles either from the past week or just in general. This is meant as an entertainment purpose on Monday because it is the most dismal of the days.
- The Orioles have four wins when they score double digit runs this season. Three of those wins have come within 10 days of each other.
- In the Orioles 19-3 blowout of the Phillies, Jeff Francoeur was the only pitcher to have a three up, three down inning. Jeff Francoeur is an outfielder.
- Also in the 19-3 game, the Orioles scored in every inning except the 7th. The inning included Jeff Francoeur striking out Nolan Reimold.
- Matt Wieters played first base in the 19-3 game for the 2nd time in his career and the first time since 2011.
- The only position players that did not play in the 19-3 game were Adam Jones and Delmon Young.
- Travis Snider is 3rd on the Orioles in bWAR (1.6).
- Ryan Flaherty (0.6) has surpassed Delmon Young (0.3) in bWAR.
- Wei-Yin Chen has the highest bWAR among pitchers (1.4) and he is not on the active roster at the moment.
- Manny Machado now has 11 stolen bases. The next closest are Adam Jones and Jimmy Paredes who both have 3.
- In the Toronto series, the Orioles bullpen did not give up a run later than the 4th inning, except for once; Zach Britton allowed 1 ER in Saturday’s 5-3 win.
- Chaz Roe has not given up an earned run since June 11th against Boston.
- Darren O’Day has not given up an earned run since June 7th against Cleveland.
- Adam Jones and Ryan Flaherty are tied for the lead in triples with 3.
- David Lough got an extra base hit that was not a home run for the first time this season: a double on June 17th against the Phillies.
- Matt Wieters still has more triples than David Lough.
- Darren O’Day leads the Orioles in ERA+ with 405. The next is Zach Britton with 217.
- Every active pitcher on the Orioles roster has allowed a home run. Those on the 40 man roster that have not allowed any include Tyler Wilson (5 games), Wesley Wright (2 games) and Cesar Cabral (2 games).
