The American League home run leader race (that really needs a better name) is really heating up. Last night, Edwin Encarnacion hit a walkoff three-run homer to give the Blue Jays a 7-4 win over the Brewers. Edwin and his invisible parrot are now in a three-way tie for AL home run lead with Nelson Cruz and White Sox slugger Jose Abreu.

They all have hit 26.

In the bottom of the second of last night’s game, Cruz hit a deep fly ball to centerfield that would have given him number 27. Rangers outfielder Leonys Martin spoiled any chance of that.

Cruz wasn’t upset. Instead he looked by dumbfounded by the play his former Rangers teammate made against him.
