Titans star running back Chris Johnson complained to Tennessee newspapers that the Ravens were “trying to hurt” him during their 2009 matchup in the postseason. “Yeah, they were trying to hurt me a little bit,” Johnson said. After the Ravens players caught wind of Johnson’s accusation they cleared the air on Thursday.
“Ain’t nobody trying to deliberately hurt nobody out here,” Terrell Suggs told Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times. “We’re all athletes. We’re all in the same league. Nobody tried to hurt him. He can get that out of his head.”
Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata gave a more candid response to Johnson’s quotes, saying that he was “happy” that Johnson left the game. “He did really well in that first half, and I think it’s a good thing he went down, because he probably would have had more yards.”
Ngata credited jealousy as the reason for Johnson’s accusations. “I think they’re just upset they lost, really.” He added that the Titans are “just trying to make excuses.”
Watch the replay of Johnson’s injury. Tell me Ed Reed wasn’t trying to give him a little “extra” pain on that play. If you truly believe he didn’t do anything extra, then you’re all biased fans that make me embarrasssed to be a Ravens fan. We NEVER admit that we make mistakes or that we lost to the better team. We ALWAYS make excuses. Honestly, it’s embarrassing. I’m a big Ravens fan but enough is enough.
Both teams hit hard so this years game should be great.
