60 years of Orioles baseball in Baltimore. The St. Louis Browns arrived to Charm City after the 1953 season and in 2014 the O’s will celebrate their 60th season by wearing this patch on their uniforms.
The left logo featured the lead-off bird used from 1954-1962. It was used as the inspiration for the ornithologically correct bird the team used from 1989-1997. Of course, the right logo is the “new” cartoon bird which debuted in 2012. I would assume that the three stars signify the Orioles three World Series championships (1966, 1970 and 1983).
The team hasn’t announced plans for any throwback uniforms, but there are numerous possibilities this season. Which jerseys would you like to see return?
I want to see those late 60’s vest style uniforms used as throwbacks.
How about the all orange unis they wore in the 70s. They wore them a couple years ago and Buck told reporters after the game how much he disliked them.
Gotta go with the Colonel on this one. Bring back the sleeveless jerseys!
