Orioles Acquire Steve Pearce From Rays

Steve Pearce is heading back to Baltimore. The Orioles have sent 21 year old catching prospect Jonah Heim to Tampa Bay Rays for the infielder.

Pearce spent 2013-2015 in Baltimore before signing a one-year, $4.75 million deal with the Rays. He’ll hit the free agent market again after the 2016 season.

As a team the Orioles are hitting .236 against left handed pitching. Pearce is hitting .377 against southpaws this season.
