Everyone loves using stats to talk about the Baltimore Orioles amazing 2012 season. Here are a few for you.
- The Orioles won their 75th game today. It’s the first time since 2004 that they have won 75 games in a single season. They have 32 games remaining on their schedule.
- With that win and the Yankees loss, the O’s have now cut the lead in the AL East to a single game.
- ESPN’s Steve Berthiaume points out that the Birds are now 23-10 since July 29. That’s the best record in baseball during that span.
- Berth also points out that the Orioles are 16 games over .500 for the first time since 1997.
- Yes, the Orioles run differential is still below zero, -31 to be exact. Against teams not named the Angels and Rangers, the Orioles run differential is +32.
The trolls love stats and “fluid predictions”. I know of one Nostradamus that told his buddies in spring training that he saw “nothing that didn’t point to 100 losses”. He adjusted that in July and made it “no way they win more than 75” even hinted Buck would be fired!!! Now, it’s smoke and mirrors and we’ll all see “next year” when it falls apart!
Sometimes you just suck it up and say “damn, I was wrong. There’s more to this game than sabremetrics…”
World Series bound, baby. Been sayin’ that since day 1!
Nostradamus…is he and The Intimidator the same guy?
Your right Nails , you have been on the train since the start of the season , I was on the train but not the true believer you were,,,,,,,,,,,,hats off to you buddy………
