The O’s have signs that say “Watch out for batted balls,” they weren’t kidding on Saturday against the Yankees.

Baltimore scored 8 runs in the second inning sending Yankee’s starter Phil Hughes to the showers after an inning and two thirds of work.

13 batters stepped into the box during the second. Gregg Zaun started the scoring with a single and he ended it with an RBI single 7 runs later.

Aubrey Huff hit a 3-run shot to the flag court that gave the O’s a 7-0 lead.

After a poor throw from Lou Montanez in left field that scored the first run of the game for the Yankees, sweet Lou responded. Next at bat he hit a two run dong to left field giving the Birds an 11-1 edge.

Adam Eaton became the first Orioles starter in 2 weeks to get a victory with his 5 inning outting. Eaton gave up 4 runs including a solo shot to Mark Teixeira. A typical homerun that will pad Tex’s stats, he’s now hitting a whopping .196 on the year.

Alex Rodriguez went 0 for 3 with a walk.

Adam Jones had a big day. He went 3 for 5 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs, one of which came from his solo homer in the 8th inning.
