It’s no secret that the Orioles have huge holes to fill in the middle of their rotation. Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun is reporting that the O’s are in talks with free agent pitcher Braden Looper.
Looper, 34, has only been a starter for 2 seasons, but pitched for a career-high 199 innings for the St. Louis Cardinals last year. He went 12-14 with a 4.16 ERA in 33 starts.
The Birds need to lock up arms quickly. I think that right now they have two real starts, Jeremy Guthrie and Koji Uehara, one is unproven the other has yet to complete a full season with out injury. The Orioles need inning eaters and lots of them.
