While Bryant McKinnie remains sidelined with a back injury, rookie Kelechi Osemele continues to impress in Ravens training camp.
Kris Jones of Ravens247.com writes that Osemele worked once again with the first team at right tackle and says that he “completely stood up Sergio Kindle on multiple occasions as Kindle tried to get to the quarterback.” The second-round pick has certainly drawn the attention of the Ravens coaching staff and if nothing else will provide solid depth for the o-line in the future.
“It’s just a matter of getting fundamentals down and getting him some game experience,” Cam Cameron explained to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times.
ESPN.com’s Jamison Hensley thinks that Osemele will be “good insurance if the Ravens can’t count upon McKinnie.” Which they haven’t been able to thus far.
“But coach John Harbaugh’s preference is to start the five best offensive linemen, so that means McKinnie, Oher, left guard Bobbie Williams, center Matt Birk and right guard Marshal Yanda.”
What else would Harbaugh’s preference be?
