Everyday on BSR we’re going to take a look at a different Oriole‘s numbers from last season and set goals for them this year. Today we start with the O’s second baseman Brian Roberts who recently signed a 4 year 40 million dollar deal securing him through the 2013 season.

2009 projections

Obviously I looked optimistically at Roberts numbers. I hope to see him loosen up after that big contract. Playing 155 games is great for Roberts, but I’d like to see at least two more, getting Roberts another 8 or so at bats. I hope to see B-Rob slice a couple doubles down the line in Camden Yards.
Roberts isn’t really a homerun hitter, so if he jumps up to 10 this year it will be an improvement and give him another couple RBIs. He’s one of the most patient batters in the league often taking that lead off walk on young pitchers. Expect Roberts to take a few more pitches this season. I’d love to see him steal 10 more bases too, Roberts is quick and dangerous on base and 50 stolen bases definitely help put the O’s in more winning situations.
Nice. I like the way you are thinking!
More stolen bases, decreased caught stealing.
He’s got that gorgeous wife now so that should help keep him more focused too, lol.
This is a good idea. If I decide to borrow it, I will let you know. But I doubt it.
Feel free to borrow it! 🙂
