It’s hard to fathom the Baltimore Ravens without Ray Lewis because there has never been a Ravens team without Ray Lewis.
ESPN Stats and Info dug up some interesting numbers on Lewis’ (future) Hall of Fame career that make it seem even more amazing. For starters, did you know that Lewis is the only active position player to enter the NFL in 1996 or before?
That’s insane.
Tony Gonzalez, Ronde Barber and London Fletcher are that only active position players that have appeared in more games than Lewis (228).
Lewis is the only player in NFL history to tackle 40 sacks and 30 interceptions in a career and he is one of six players to win the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award multiple times (2000 and 2003).
Nice legacy but it is past time for him to retire,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,he actually is hurting the team while on the field,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the problem is Ozzie hasn’t brought in very good LB the past five years…………….the defense is in real trouble………………..it was even before Ray got injured……………….
spy – You know as well as I do they’ll have to drag Lewis off the field. Still think him and Rex hook up for a one year swansong…
That just may happen,,,,,,,,,,,,it will be a sad day if it does , while I think Ray is way over done , I also believe he was the best middle LB I have ever seen,,,,,,,,,,,,it is not pretty to watch him play this way , actually it is already sad………………

Sexy Rexy might be looking for a job when this season is over. When he was winning, the bravado got peoples attention, now it just looks stupid. I don’t see the Lewis Ryan connection happening.
