Steelers safety Ryan Clark is back at it again. This tine he’s firing up the Ravens by attempting to argue that there isn’t a rivalry between the Ravens and Steelers, but between the fans. Jamison Hensley of The Sun detailed Clark’s latest spat with Baltimore.

“People try to make this game between the Ravens and the Steelers as so much of a rivalry, a fight,” Clark told 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh. “You can say it’s a rivalry if you like, but I really truly feel that for a game to be a rivalry, it doesn’t have to just be physical. I think for something to be a rivalry, both teams have to win equally. I think just the hate between the fans doesn’t make a situation a rivalry.”

Statistically speaking, Clark makes a point in that the Ravens have lost six of their last eight match ups against Pittsburgh and that John Harbaugh and Joe Flacco have never defeated a Ben Roethlisberger-led Steelers team.

However, this is the second time in a week that Clark has taken a shot at the Ravens. He’s doing nothing but giving them bulletin board material for week one. As a Ravens fan, I hope he keeps running his mouth. My team needs all the motivation they can get against Pittsburgh.
