Dan Duquette and the Orioles have focused their attention heavily on the Pacific rim this offseason. The O’s signed three arms from the Asian continent, but unfortunately their scouts are no longer welcomed in South Korea.
“The South Korean governing body of baseball has banned scouts from the Baltimore Orioles in Major League Baseball (MLB) from attending local games, after the Orioles signed a teenage pitcher in a controversial move,” YONHAPNews.co.kr reports.
The O’s signed 17-year old lefty Kim Seong-min in January which broke the KBA’s rule about contacting players before their “final years of study.”
I wonder how that “ban” actually works. Does that mean Orioles scouts are flagged down at customs? Can they watch KBA games with fake mustaches?
Doesn’t really matter does it,,,,,,,,the scouts are pitiful anyway…………
Z-Man…Love the fake mustache line! Helps me forget the pain now that the O’s won’t be able to compete with all the South Koreans playing for the Yanks, Bosox, and Rangers…Oh. Wait. Never mind…Still love the fake mustache line!
