Steve Pearce is back in Baltimore and according to Ed Encina of the Baltimore Sun, he “couldn’t be happier.”
“It was surprising it went all the way down there to the very end,” Pearce told reporters in Tampa Bay. “We were counting down the seconds. I was hoping to stay but the moves were made. … It’s going to make the transition a lot easier [going to Baltimore]. Couldn’t be happier where I’m going. … I’m looking forward to hearing from [manager Buck Showalter].”
Pearce helped elevate the Orioles to an AL East championship in 2014. He recorded three hits in 10 at-bats during the ALDS against the Tigers and scored the tying run on Delmon Young‘s super amazing three run double in the eighth inning of game two.
