Adam Jones belted his sixth home run of the season on Thursday against the Blue Jays as the Orioles swept Toronto out of town.
Off the bat it was a clear “no doubter” which gave the Orioles the lead in the eighth inning. Amber Theoharis tweeted an interesting statistic after the game about Jones’ home runs this season. Of AJ’s six homers, five have tied the game or given the Orioles the lead.
This is the season that will determine Jones’ future, whether it be in Baltimore or elsewhere. He’s a free agent in 2014 which means his hard work and timely hitting will bring in some prospects to Baltimore through a trade or the O’s will lock him up long term.
I’m rooting for the latter.
