Tennessee Titans defensive end Derrick Morgan was fined $7,500 by the league for his late hit on Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco in their week two matchup. Morgan dove on top of a pile after Flacco had been hit on a fumble recovery and was flagged with a 15-yard personal foul penalty.
Morgan says that a Ravens offensive lineman saw the replay of the hit and told him that it was tough penalty. After watching it on TV, it was a close call, but I think he jumped in just a little too late and led with the helmet which is always dangerous. The NFL doesn’t like when you do that to quarterbacks.
Morgan told reporters that he plans to appeal the penalty.
