Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith left Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals after taking a shot to the head in the third quarter. Smith’s contact stopped his route, which caused Joe Flacco to throw an interception.
Smith was evaluated for a concussion, but apparently he didn’t suffer one as he was cleared and returned later in the game. I’m no doctor, but this sure looks like a guy who was dealing with a head injury.
Isn’t that what being “dazed” is?
Interesting/related note from Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, five of Flacco’s seven picks this season have come from throwing the ball to Smith.
To put it in perspective, Flacco has thrown five interceptions on 42 passes to Smith (11.9 percent). He has been picked off twice on his 237 passes to everyone else (less than 1 percent).
Was that Marlon Brown making the tackle? Put him in at safety.
