Brad Bergesen had a bit of an off night, but still managed to only surrender three earned runs in six innings of work. He was the losing pitcher and is now 5-3 on the season.
Bergy gave up a solo homerun to Russell Branyan in the first and then held it together through the next four innings. Brad walked four and struck out four. Un-Bergy-like.
The Birds placed Chris Ray on the disabled list with right bicep tendonitis and Kam Mickolio was called up from Norfolk. Kam pitched a perfect eighth inning and struck out Ichiro Suzuki.
