In a misty, rainy, cold night the Orioles yet again took advantage of the struggling Toronto Blue Jays.
6 losses in a row? Better make it 7!
Jason Berken made his major league debut on the hill for the Orioles, he pitched 5 strong innings allowing 7 hits and 2 earned runs. Berken looked a little shaky early as he struggled with his command through the 1st and 2nd, but got in the zone through the 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
Berken got the win, he’s 1-0, and had 3 walks and 3 strike outs.
The O’s were down 2-1 after 4 innings then Adam Jones came to the plate and blasted his 12th homerun to left center. It was a 2 run homer that gave the O’s a 3-2 lead.
Baltimore’s bullpen held the Blue Jays scoreless for four more innings and the O’s tacked on 4 more insurance runs. Nolan Reimold hit his 3rd homerun and Brian Roberts tacked on 2 with an RBI double. B-Rob had a 3 for 4 day with a walk.
The O’s go for the sweep tomorrow in a day game but have to face Roy Halladay, unfortunately for them they have yet to win a 3 game series…
