Steve Pearce apparently values his breakout season in 2014 much higher than the Baltimore Orioles do. Pearce reportedly requested $5.4 million in arbitration on Friday, while the O’s offered just $2 million.

MLBTradeRumors.com’s Tim Dierkes projected that Pearce would make $2.2 million in his final year of arbitration.
Pearce made $850,000 last year.
He slashed .293/.373/.556 with 21 homers and 49 RBI. Pearce finished second on the Orioles roster in WAR with 4.9*, behind only Adam Jones (5.4). He had previously never had a single season with higher than 0.8 WAR in his eight seasons in the big leagues.
Sounds like this one is going to a hearing.
