Can the Orioles re-sign Chris Davis? Can they add a top of the rotation starter? Can they do both?
According to GM Dan Duquette, a guest on MLB Network Radio on Sunday morning, the O’s expect to open up Peter Angelos’ check book this winter.
Orioles GM Dan Duquette just told us that they have the resources to spend and that includes both Chris Davis… https://t.co/Bamizqk8Ty

We would like to sign a top of the rotation starter and by that I mean a one, two or three starter. There’s some in that group. I don’t think there’s many number one starters, but there’s a couple of twos and threes that we could be very competitive on.
We have pretty good flexibility in our major league payroll.
Adam Jones signed the largest deal in Orioles franchise history (six years, $85 million) back in 2012. To re-sign Davis and add a top-tier starter, the O’s will have to be willing to break that record twice.
