The Baltimore Ravens have more Charlie Batch to look forward to this Sunday. Ben Roethlisberger is out for the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 13.
As Matt Bridigi of SBNation.com points out, Albert Breer of NFL.com broke the news on Friday afternoon, citing a source close to the situation.
According to reports from earlier in the week, Roethlisberger’s status was going to be determined based upon his arm strength more so than his ability to deal with the pain. Mark Kabloy of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported that if he were to play, he would wear extra padding (which included a layer of Kevlar), to protect the area around his heart and ribs.
Roethlisberger’s injury will be a nice excuse for Steelers fans, should the Ravens win again on Sunday. But they have much bigger concerns that just Big Ben.
